Germany:


Gender Data Report (German link)
The 1st Data Report on the Equal Treatment of Women and Men in the Federal Republic of Germany, drawn up by the German Youth Institute in cooperation with the Federal Office of Statistics for the BMFSFJ (Federal Ministry for Women, Senior Citizens, Family and Youth) in 2005, provides an overview of the state of gender equality in the subject areas of education, employment, family, compatibility, social policy and health, as well as participation and violence. Some of the data are moreover broken down by age, profession, skills and qualifications and other social and demographical criteria.
The Gender Data Report can be downloaded from the Internet (PDF, 3.4 MB) or requested on CD-ROM under publikationen@bundesregierung.de.

GISA Gender Report 2002 (German link)
The texts and data of the Saxony Anhalt Gender Institute relate mainly to the Federal State of Saxony Anhalt, but can to an extent be compared with other regions. The statistics are broken down by gender and, depending on the area, by other criteria.

CEWS Statistics Portal (German link)
The statistics of the Center of Excellence Women in Science (CEWS) offer information on women in science and research. The portal includes gender-specific data on universities, research institutions and industrial research, on committees and external funding and on Germany’s position in European and international league tables.

Gerostat
GeroStat is a statistical specialist information system of the German Center for Age Issues for gerontological and demographic questions in social research, social reporting and social policy. It offers an extensive collection of data with social and gerontological relevance that are well broken down by gender, age, nationality or socio-economic criteria.


Europe:

Database of women and men in decision-making
This website by Eurostat and the EU Directorate General for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities provides information on the relative involvement of women and men in decision-making processes and management positions in European institutions and Member States. The data are always broken down by gender.

European Database – Women in Decision-Making
This site offers information on women in political decision-making positions in the EU, the countries of the European Economic Area and the prospective member states. The data are collected at national, regional and European level and are broken down by gender.



International:

Database of Gender Statistics (GenderStats)
GenderStats brings together World Bank data on gender-relevant subject areas from a range of national and international UN and World Bank sources.
The data are broken down by gender, but not by any other criteria.

Gender Statistics Website for Europe and North America
and overview of categorization
The extensive statistics of the UN Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and UNDP relate in particular to the subject areas health, family, criminality, population and employment. The data are always broken down by gender, but not by other criteria.

Parline Database

On the PARLINE Database of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), data on the composition of parliaments and governments can be called down. The statistics are based on public information provided by national parliaments. The data are broken down by gender. You can also find broken down data on parliament members if you click here.

WHOSIS
The site of the World Health Organization (WHO) offers various statistics in the subject area health, including diseases and mortality rates. The data are broken down by gender and age.

Women’s Empowerment – Measuring the Global Gender Gap

The report of the World Economic Forum brings together data from 58 countries to analyze differences in gender equality in five critical areas. The data are always broken down by gender.
